A clear, structured process from your first consultation through to project handover — no ambiguity, no surprises, one team responsible at every stage.
RNM's process is built around one principle: everything confirmed in writing before the next stage begins. Brief, design, approvals, and execution — each stage is signed off before we proceed. You always know exactly where your project stands. See our pricing guide.
Every RNM project follows the same structured process — designed to give you complete clarity at every stage and eliminate the ambiguity where most Dubai projects go wrong.
We meet at your property or our studio to understand your brief, programme, and budget. The site is assessed, existing drawings are reviewed, and authority approval requirements are identified. A written brief summary is issued within 48 hours — confirming what we heard and what we will deliver. This stage is complimentary with no obligation to proceed.
Following the brief, RNM issues a fixed-fee proposal — a clear scope document, programme, and price. The proposal covers every stage from design through to handover with no open items, no provisional sums, and no percentage fees. Once accepted, a formal contract is signed and the project begins. The number you sign is the number on the final invoice.
Our design team develops the concept — space planning, mood boards, material direction, colour palette, furniture strategy, and lighting concept. The concept is presented for your review and approval. No design development proceeds until the concept is signed off. For residential projects, this typically takes 2 to 4 weeks. Commercial projects typically take 3 to 5 weeks.
Following concept approval, the full drawing package is produced — floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, wall elevations, joinery drawings, lighting plan, materials schedule, and contractor specification document. All drawings are produced to Dubai Municipality submission standard. Authority approval packages — DM drawings, DEWA schematics, developer NOC applications — are submitted during this stage so approvals run in parallel with procurement.
Once design is approved and authority approvals are received, fit-out works commence on site. Civil, MEP, joinery, flooring, and finishes are sequenced and managed by our dedicated project manager. Weekly progress reports are issued with site photography. Long-lead items — joinery, specialist materials — are ordered during Stage Four to ensure programme is maintained. You have one point of contact throughout.
A joint snagging walkthrough is conducted with you on site before handover is accepted. All snagging items are resolved before keys are handed over. The handover pack includes as-built drawings, warranties for all installed items, authority completion certificates, and the 12-month defects liability period documentation. RNM remains available for aftercare queries throughout the defects liability period.
Every stage requires written approval before the next begins. Brief confirmed before design starts. Concept approved before development proceeds. Design signed off before a single item is ordered or a wall is touched.
Most Dubai projects lose 4 to 8 weeks because authority approvals are submitted after design is complete. RNM submits DM and NOC applications during the design development stage — approvals arrive while procurement is running, not while the programme is stalled.
You have one dedicated project manager from contract signing to handover. One phone number, one weekly update, one person accountable for everything on site. No passing between departments, no lost information, no excuses.
The most common questions clients ask about how RNM works before starting a project.
Total project duration depends on scope. For a 2-bedroom apartment — design only — the process takes 6 to 10 weeks from consultation to completed drawings. For a full design and fit-out — same apartment — total timeline is typically 14 to 20 weeks. For a villa, expect 20 to 32 weeks for full design and fit-out. RNM confirms your specific timeline at the proposal stage.
As involved as you want to be — but never more than necessary. RNM manages everything: design reviews, approval submissions, procurement, site management, and snagging. Your involvement is required at key sign-off points — brief confirmation, concept approval, design approval — and at the final handover walkthrough. Many of our clients are based overseas and manage the entire project remotely with weekly photo updates.
Design changes before fabrication begins are accommodated at no additional charge in most cases — minor revisions are part of the process. Changes after materials have been ordered or fabrication has begun are assessed and quoted as a variation before any additional work proceeds. This is why we invest heavily in the design approval stage — to ensure everyone is fully aligned before anything is made.
No. RNM's turnkey service means all trades — civil, MEP, joinery, flooring, and finishes — are delivered by our own in-house teams. You do not need to find, manage, or coordinate any external contractors. If you have chosen design-only service, we provide a complete drawing package that any competent Dubai contractor can build from.
Authority approvals are submitted during Stage Four — design development — so that approval timelines run in parallel with procurement rather than adding to the overall programme. RNM submits all applications in-house: Dubai Municipality drawings, DEWA coordination, and developer NOC applications for EMAAR, Nakheel, Meraas, or DMCC as required. You are never required to contact any authority or developer directly.
As-built drawings reflecting any site changes, product warranties for all installed items, MEP schematics, authority completion certificates, building management sign-off documents, and the 12-month defects liability period documentation — all compiled and issued at project handover.
